Target Beauty Box Review

Target is doing something cool.

I don’t know if this is an old or new practice, but I was elated to see that Target had their own in-store beauty box that mimicked that of a monthly beauty subscription service like Ipsy and Birch Box. I hope it’s here to stay.

If you find yourself in the cosmetics aisle of a Target, you may run into a shelf that is stacked with colorful boxes containing different categories of items for $7.00. I chose the “Treat Yourself” box because I am a strong advocate for such.

This box came with six, spa-like, sample items to try accompanied by coupons for each of the items if you decided to purchase them. Here is what I got:

Luxe by Mr. Bubble Meltaways Bath Candies

These are normally in a bigger pouch for $10.00. I can’t say that they did anything spectacular for me after use, but I love throwing anything dissolvable in my bath so they were still fun to use.

Olay Regenerist Whip

This is probably my favorite item from the box. It feels weird to use a anti-wrinkle formula as a black 27-year-old woman. But I got to tell you, this whip makes my face feel so smooth. Its very light, and its easy to feel as if you need more to get the moisture, but once you allow it to set, you face will feel as smooth as a baby’s bottom. The trial size is small, but compared to its mother at $28.00, you’ll be easily motivated to make this small jar last for as long as possible.

Tini Me! Bath Bomb

Much like the Meltaways, you can find these in a bigger bag for $10.00. I didn’t notice anything to special about this bomb, but like I said before, I’m a sucker for exploding bath times.

Honest Beauty Gel Cleanser

Regularly retailed at $18.00, it was nice to be introduced to a new facial wash that I will probably get a couple of uses out of. Based on the one time that I’ve used this so far, I don’t think I would purchase the regular retailed product. But if I begin to sense something unique about it after a couple of more uses I’ll be sure to let you know 😉

Free & Lovely by Bodycology Sofening Body Butter

I’m instantly attracted to anything with coconut in it. So I was excited to get this in the box. I also love a good body butter. You can get a bigger tube of this for only $4.99, with a  smell that is sweet but subtle.

Dr. Teal’s Pink Himalayan Foaming Bath

Also, regularly priced at $4.99, the Dr. Teal’s foaming bath was a nice little trial size to feed my bubble bath addiction. But I don’t think I would purchase. The smell seemed a little to serious for my liking.

Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm

The cool thing about this was that it was not trial size. It is the typical size of a Burt’s Bees lip balm that normally retails for about $3.00. I’m very particular about the chapstick that I use, since it is so common for my lips to be dried out with other brands of chapstick. My true favorite beauty product would have to be ChapSticks Classic Cherry. It is the one product that keeps my lips feeling smooth and moist for an extended amount of time. With that said, this Burt’s Bees lip balm really surprised me. It didn’t dry out my lips minutes after using it and I found myself adding it to my mental list of lip balm brands that may do my lips some justice.

As for the tint, let’s just say that my lips are already the same color as this lip balm, so no comment on that.

I hope Target continues to do this, It was fun sampling and enjoying products that I would have never given a second thought.

What would you like to try from this box? Let me know in the comments.

Much love,

Whit
